Blake Shelton is counting his lucky stars he didn't lose Gwen Stefani's diamond engagement ring before he proposed.
Speaking to the Bobby Bones Show on Monday, the "God's Country" singer revealed that he stashed the ring in a clever but extremely precarious location for safekeeping.

While no one discovered the ring's hiding spot, the eight-time Grammy nominee confessed that the diamond was in danger of being lost every time he climbed into or exited his vehicle.
"Stuff falls out of that damn thing on my truck all the time. I'm digging in there, looking for a flashlight or change and I kept thinking, 'Man, somebody's gonna hit the jackpot whenever I drop this thing out of my truck,'" Shelton quipped.
"I wanted to keep it in there all the time because I didn't know when I would have the exact right moment [to propose,]" he added with a laugh. "Thank God I didn't lose the ring!"

"The only thing I had planned, Bobby, was that I knew that I wanted to do it in Oklahoma while all her kids were there and her brother and his family and my sister and her family," the country star explained. "I wanted everybody to be there in the moment. I didn't want to take her away, you know, or do something private away from the kids."
Shelton, who insisted he wanted Gwen's children -- Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6 -- "to be a part of that moment," proposed in October.
